Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. 4-6 years' experience in aviation industry working on commercial aircraft A&P/ FCC License preferred. Experience working on and troubleshooting aircraft avionics and airframe systems. Knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 91, 145. Experience working with and repairing the following aircraft systems: Autopilots, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, EFIS, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Lighting, Pitot and Static Systems, ADS-b, Transponders, HF/VHF/ACARS, etc. Military avionics experience preferred but not required. Our client, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Avionics Technician to support aircraft maintenance operations with a strong focus on avionics installation, troubleshooting, testing, and repair. APA Services is facilitating the hiring process including candidate screening and interview coordination, with the intent of placing technicians who are seeking a long-term, direct employment opportunity. In this role, the Avionics Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and documenting complex avionics and electrical systems, including navigation, communication, flight monitoring, and passenger-related systems. This position begins with a short evaluation or audition period to confirm technical capability, attention to detail, and overall fit. Successful candidates will transition to direct employment with our client following this period. A formal interview, either in person or via live video, is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced avionics technician to join our team. The responsibilities of the avionics technician include running wires/cables, mounting antennas, connecting instruments for navigation and engine monitoring, installing radios, autopilots, passenger entertainment systems and configurations. A technician that possesses great attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of advanced electronics and systems diagnostics. Ultimately, a top-notch avionics technician that has great manual dexterity, and experience with quality control analysis. Installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. Ensuring that all avionics equipment works properly before return to service and that they do not interfere with any other electronic device. Removing, repairing, and re-installing any problematic avionics equipment before an aircraft is returned to service. Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on components. Assembling and installing electrical components. Providing accurate diagnoses of discrepancies noted. Organizing ground support and test equipment. Analyzing flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and study the operations of the electrical components. Coordinating all work with Avionics manager, technicians, and aircraft maintenance crew. Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines.

Requirements

At least 3 years of work experience with aircraft electrical systems installation and repair, with specific aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge. At least 2 years of work experience on designated helicopters (Airbus – AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145; Agusta – 109, 119, 139; Bell – 206, 407, 429, 412, 505; MD – 500; Sikorsky – S76). Certifications in electrical or aviation maintenance courses preferred. Experience with systems such as NAV/COM, Autopilot, GPS, and RVSM. An understanding of other aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls. The ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills. Steady hands and excellent eyesight.

This position is intended to transition to direct employment following a short evaluation period. Candidates must be willing to complete an in-person or live video interview.
