Soft goods include crew seats, passenger seats, divans, side ledges, headliners and other assorted interior soft goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, completion drawings, company standards, work instructions, 3D model information. Perform proper maintenance practices in accordance to DFJ FPS, “F” standards and Quality standards, such as proper glue application, adhesive bonding, and hardware. Correct handling and use of all required tools specific to the current job assignment. Correct handling and use of all required chemicals and adhesives related to the current job assignment, including general knowledge and ability on retrieving data from the MSDS safety books. Position will primarily have one area of focus: Seat Covering Disassemble and reassemble vendor passenger seats and divans in accordance with the guidelines of the vendor component maintenance manuals, and other seat and divan vendors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Experience in Upholstery, Sewing, or related. Able to align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics. Must not be allergic to chemical, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers. Basic computer skills. Able to work in confined spaces and in unusual positions. Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework. Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level according to OSHA standards. Preferred - Aircraft upholstery fabrication experience Preferred - Ability to solve practical problems when needed. Remove and install all interior components and soundproofing materials to meet company quality standards Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production procedures to determine measurements and installation procedures. Measure and mark installation areas in aircraft interior, using measuring and marking instruments and templates Fit and install items in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and fasteners, such as screws, rivets, bolts, and speed nuts Fabricate and install supporting structural devices, such as clips, brackets, angles, gussets, and doublers, using shop equipment Test functional performance of installed items

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Interior Mechanic on corporate, heavy commercial or VVIP/Head of State aircraft Minimum of 3 years' experience on VVIP B777 highly preferred MUST have at least 1 year of B777 experience within the last two years. Remove and reinstall VVIP interiors to include disconnecting and reconnecting of avionics and systems. Install carpet and non-textile flooring. Strip and recover headliners, valance panels, deco’s etc. with different materials. Install potted inserts, use of various adhesives, fillers, and aircraft hardware. Sewing, make patterns, layout. Seats, adjust, repair, and recover. Cabinet shop Experience, work with veneers and laminates. Removal, installation, and maintenance of sound reduction kits.

Determine how such items as oven temperature, heating time, dimensions, tolerances, material cutting, polish machine speeds, holding fixtures, and other operations affect the outcome of the production process.Prepares acrylic billet material for the pre-stretch heating cycle. Places prepared billets into the oven using various types of material handling equipment and set the temperature controls. Lifts and positions heated material into the holding fixture, sets the machine controls and completes the stretching process.Operates band saw to cut material to size indicated on the planning documents. Places material to be cut onto the saw table surface using various types of material handling equipment.
