Essential Functions: Safely perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision. Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants and solvents. Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions. Use the proper hardware for various sheetmetal applications. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required. Additional Functions: 1. Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g. YIAW, Kaizen events, etc.). . 2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment and returns items to tool room after use. . 3. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed when operating ground support equipment. . 4. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. . 5. Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft. . 6. Aircraft Mechanics will keep assigned tools and support equipment in a safe and operational condition at all times, and when using calibrated equipment, ensure the calibration due time has not expired. Aircraft Mechanics will wear such eye and ear protection as necessary to safeguard sight and hearing while on the flight line during engine run-ups or when operating machinery and power tools.

Requirements

3+ years of recent MRO experience. Aircraft Onsite: A319/320/330, 737NG and 737 Classic High school diploma or equivalent. Applies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards.

Selects the appropriate personal protective equipment for the operation to be performed. When using a respirator ensures the respirator is working properly and is properly worn. Applies spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish using protective or decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush. Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested. Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent. Ensures compliance with environment regulations and maintains records in accordance with these environment regulations.

Requirements

Technical school and two (2) to four (4) or more years of aircraft or formal automotive painting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. High School/GED

Other Requirements: Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams. Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
