Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and organized work area. Work from drawings, sketches, pictures or verbal specifications to stain, finish, and polish cabinets, cabinet parts, and sub-assemblies including inlays, patterns, and special designs. Strip finish as needed. Experience working with wood veneers, sanding, clear coating, staining, and touch up on veneers. Prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding, steaming, filling, and cleaning. Cover all areas to be protected from paint or stripper with proper materials. Select and mix proper paint to the Manufacturer’s specifications. May be required to experiment with special paints and related products. Set up and use spray gun for proper application of urethane, lacquer, enamel, water base and epoxy paints. Touch up woodwork with brush, airbrush, and/or spray gun, blend-in techniques. Complete tasks within assigned time limits. Accurately log computerized labor data collection system for work orders, time and attendance tracking. May lead or train other personnel on specific job assignments as directed by supervision. Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures. Set up and operate standard shop equipment.
