Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 1. Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) and determines product acceptability to the authorized limits of the NDT level obtained in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures. 2. Records, organizes and evaluates test results and enter results into applicable documents. 3. Ensures compliance to all radiation safety rules and regulations and provides protection to self and others during testing. 4. Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed. 5. Maintains inventory control of area equipment. Additional Functions: 1. Works with and assists other NDT Technicians as required. 2. Coordinates NDT inspection workload according to priorities, efficiency and cost effectiveness. 3. Make final airworthiness determination prior to “Return of Service” on items they are authorized to inspect for any article maintained or altered by this repair station. Reject any work or parts that have not been properly maintained or altered in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s approved data, customer approved data and the policies and procedures contained within this manual. When using a respirator ensures the respirator is working properly and is properly worn. Applies spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish using protective or decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush. Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested. Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent. Ensures compliance with environment regulations and maintains records in accordance with these environment regulations.

High school diploma or G.E.D. and Two (2) or more years of experience in aircraft painting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
