The Cabin/Interiors Technician’s main responsibilities will be removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting. Repair, adjustments and installation of aircraft seats. Read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and perform complex cabin reconfigurations. Hold general knowledge of tools. Understand how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers. Identify interior fasteners and determine grip lengths required, and possess basic knowledge of installation methods. Clean corrosion and treat metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. Apply corrosion preventatives and know to which areas of the aircraft corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. Accomplish simple sheet metal repairs or simple replacements of structural parts. Fabricate replacement covering, panels or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Understand and practice correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft Identify the locations of pressurized areas of the aircraft. Open and close areas on the aircraft which are required to be opened for inspection. May affect bonded repairs of honeycomb structures. Ensure work performed meets FAA and customer standards. Follow standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members. Ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge or skill. Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner. Clean and remove any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 3 years previous Interiors/Cabins experience required. Must have minimum required tools.

As a Sheetmetal Mechanic you will troubleshoot, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft sheet metal components and hydraulics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while performing work Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine layout requirements Mark outlines or patterns on materials, using measuring instruments and scribes Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and punch and drill presses, to cut, bend, block, form, punch, drill, or otherwise shape parts to specifications Operate soldering equipment to join sheet metal parts Smooth edges and surfaces of grooves or joints, using hand tools, power tools, files, or chemicals Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and tolerances, using precision measuring instruments Provide accurate diagnoses and repair of structural discrepancies noted. Install structural fittings such as bulkheads, formers, stringers, ribs, frames, and other components. Install insulation materials such as fiberglass or polyurethane using hand or power tools. Repair dents, cracks, or other damage to the aircraft’s skin using appropriate hand tools. Repair holes in aircraft skins using patch materials such as aluminum, composite materials, or plastic materials such as fiberglass cloth or synthetic resin materials. Installing, repairing, and replacing aircraft skins, structural components, and interior furnishings such as insulation, carpeting, vinyl flooring, soundproofing materials, seats, paneling, and paint Installing interior and exterior trim such as windows, doors, bulkheads, wall panels, ceilings, flooring, and staircases Repairing or replacing damaged control surfaces such as flaps, ailerons, rudders, elevators, or stabilizers using hand tools such as files, grinders, or sanders Applying corrosion-resistant coatings such as paint or primer to surfaces to protect them from damage by Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an FAA-approved sheet metal mechanic program 3+ years’ experience as a sheet metal mechanic, with at least 2 years on helicopter installations and repairs Aircraft; helicopter preferred (Airbus/Eurocopter AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145, Agusta 109, 119, 139, Bell 206, 407, 429, 412, 505, MD500, and/or Sikorsky S76.) Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry Ability to use basic Sheetmetal hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals Experience working on commercial and/or military aircraft Certification from the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) Leadership experience in a supervisory or management role.

Follows safety procedures and wears/uses appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed. Reads instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. Communicates effectively in English regarding work activities, per FAA requirements. Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience providing knowledge of avionics-related work techniques, terminology, parts, systems, etc. on Airbus and Boeing Aircraft High School Diploma or GED required. Current A&P License in good standing is preferred. FCC License preferred (FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License). Perform daily transactions within the ERP system (AMROS), vending (POU), as well as research customer’s maintenance manuals. Lifts and carries hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascends and descends ladders and platforms; and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping, kneeling or squatting.
