The Cabin/Interiors Technician’s main responsibilities will be removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting. Repair, adjustments and installation of aircraft seats. Read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and perform complex cabin reconfigurations. Hold general knowledge of tools. Understand how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers. Identify interior fasteners and determine grip lengths required, and possess basic knowledge of installation methods. Clean corrosion and treat metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. Apply corrosion preventatives and know to which areas of the aircraft corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. Accomplish simple sheet metal repairs or simple replacements of structural parts. Fabricate replacement covering, panels or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Understand and practice correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft Identify the locations of pressurized areas of the aircraft. Open and close areas on the aircraft which are required to be opened for inspection. May affect bonded repairs of honeycomb structures. Ensure work performed meets FAA and customer standards. Follow standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members. Ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge or skill. Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner. Clean and remove any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 3 years previous Interiors/Cabins experience required. Must have minimum required tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Installer must complete assigned tasks with the allocated man-hour budgets and on a schedule while maintaining quality standards and performing the tasks within the guidelines of all safety and regulatory requirements. Fabricate, assemble and install products, such as window panels, headliners, decorative panel, access panel, etc… Install main cabin cabinet such as Galley, Crew Closet, entertainment cabinets, window shades, Sideledges, tables, Mid Run cabinet, lavatory cabinets, etc… Install final assemblies (including sinks, water, air and oxygen systems, drawers …). Perform functional checks on installed systems Adjust and perform functional test on mechanical assemblies such as drawers, magazine racks, doors, curtain, tables … Install and fit carpeting in the aircraft. Install and perform function test on cockpit and cabin seats. Set up and operate standard shop equipment. Accurately log labor performed into our Manufacturing Execution System. Complete tasks in quality manner within allocated budgets and schedules. Assist other as required. Work in accordance with Company rules, including but not limited to Safety, Training, Quality, Human resources… Work in accordance with Business Unit rules, including but not limited to Tool Control, 5S… Must present a professional manner at all times. Performs difficult masking operations. Selects finish ingredients and mixes them by hand or machine to obtain specified color or shade to specifications or match existing finish. Calculates mix ratios in order to mix sealant, filler materials, and paint. Applies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards.

Basic knowledge of the sheet metal fabrication processes as it specifically relates to the corporate aviation industry, in a completions environment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Basic knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the finish application process. Willingness to obtain knowledge of the RSQM and FAA requirements as it relates to finish application. Working knowledge of computers and related software utilized by client. Willingness to obtain working knowledge of lean or other continuous improvement opportunity techniques. Ability to communicate in an assertive yet professional, motivating, and tactful manner.
